Cruz de Valencia is one of these new communities growing at a fast rate. The municipal officials requested assistance in reconstructing several bridges along one of the major arteries serving three of these rapidly growing communities and the surrounding agricultural areas.
No. 1
The first bridge at Cruz de Valencia is proposed to be a single span structure made with a corrugated aluminum arch, founded on sloped reinforced concrete walls with bagged concrete headwalls. The bridge will be located on the main north south road leading from the municipal center of La Lima toward the town of El Paraíso. The structure will cross an old man made canal excavated by the banana companies for the plantations that used to be located in this area.

The second bridge at Cruz de Valencia is proposed to be a three-span structure utilizing three segments of the same type of corrugated aluminum arch, founded on piles.
