Guanaja
Guanaja is the easternmost, and smallest, of the Honduran Bay Islands. The permanent population is approximately 10,000 people, a mix of island peoples, foreign residents, and mainland migrants. The majority of the population lives on one caye, Bonacca, leaving the rest of the island and the surrounding marine life to nature. The coral reefs that surround Guanaja give the island its two main industries: tourism and commercial fishing.
